Re: Stay back 20 feet
Well, my 67 is now down in the back and has a 4" beam and drop spindles in the front. I traded the stock tires/wheels off the 67 for the beam drum-to-drum, spindles and all. Well...the beam is not quite right.
You can see in this pic that the left front wheel is cambered out at the top.
I jacked it up and put the concentric adjusters facing forward (they were both wrong) but it didn't fix it. The car has too much toe-in and only turns left a little, but turns right quite a bit. The tie-rods are obviously out of whack. I had a buddy put it all in since I was already helping another buddy do his ghia...trying to get ready for the Jax GTG tomorrow. I don't know what happened but I'm going to fix it all next week. It can be driven tomorrow but after that it has to come apart again. :yelling: I'd like to mess with it tonight but my wife is working and I have the kids. Plus, I've been in the shop most of the day...I'm ready to kick back a little.

Re: Stay back 20 feet
let me know what you find out with the camber up front mine is doing the same thing \ / instead of / \ some one told me to just turn the tie rods in and that will fix it but IDK...
Re: Stay back 20 feet
From the front mine looks like l /, from the top it looks like l /, so my left front wheel is leaning out at the top and in in the front. I turned the camber adjustment pieces so they both point to the front of the car. The notch on the left one was facing the inside of the car, the notch on the right one was facing the right wheel. Both face forward now so I'll know tomorrow if that helped. I'll shorten my left tie-rod in the morning and that should fix the steering issues I hope.

Re: Stay back 20 feet
I shortened the left tie-rod and got it back in. It helped everything a lot. The car steers better now. Adjusting the camber helped but the left front wheel is still leaning out at the top but not as bad. I didn't make it to the Jax Bch show today for a couple of reasons. Mostly, my riding buddy's ghia had an issue. My 67 is too low, scrapes everywhere, front end feels loose, feels like wheels will fall off when turning...just took away all my confidence in trusting this as a driver. It's parked until I get time to sort it out myself.

OK, that's odd. All my other pics show up fine in this thread. The last one does not. I went to work today and the last one was fine on my old 20" crt monitor there. I'm back home on my 24" and it's cropped again.
