The Fun Car
OK, I've decided to combine my 64 project and a 61 parts car into my "volksrod" project and finish my 62 ragtop as a mild-custom cruiser. The plan is still similar to the drawing but I may keep the fenders.
I will use the rolling chassis from the 64 project. If I go fenderless I will build an extension for it and change the wheels.
The red 64 body will be used as donor metal for the black 61. Once the black body is finished I will bolt it on the 64 pan. I've started the 4" chop.
I'm chopping it a little different than most people do because, 1) I have no idea what I am doing and 2) I'm trying a few things that are a little different so I'm doing it a little different.

Re: The Fun Car
I didn't have much time to work on the chop today. I took a pain pill and when the little one took his nap I tried to get a little done. I'm just trying to get the overall shape and height for now. I think I am going to take it down another 1/2".

Re: The Fun Car
Call me stupid but I cut everything back off and lowered the roof another 1/2". I'm starting to get it back together again.

Re: The Fun Car
I got it outside for a better look.
I don't like it.
I did work on making the right side B-pillar match the left side and the first fit of the A & C-pillars.
Comments welcome.

Re: The Fun Car
I haven't done a lot to the chop yet I have done a lot of little things. Here's a few pics in random order. I date all my pics so that might help.
everything that is in primer has went to bare metal
cutting the windshield area down another inch or so
filling in the front roof area
side profile
getting ideas on ragtop clip fit
removed 1/4" thick undercoating
cutting out the rear cowl area
filling in the vents
fitting the second ragtop clip
